Back by Popular Demand: Complimentary Winter Experiences
Due to popular demand - and all the positive feedback we have received - the Complimentary Winter Experiences programme for hotel guests of the Larnaka region is back for a third year!
The programme was created by the Larnaka Tourism Board with the support of the CTO and other Local Authories and companies to offer an authentic and varied experience during the ‘colder’ months, and runs from November 1, 2015 – April 30, 2016.
Monday offers a trip to Voroklini Lake, where visitors will help to prepare traditional delicacies, enjoy a spot of bird watching, and also partake in a traditional basket weaving workshop. Tuesday is a day out at the unique Mazotos Camel Park, and on Wednesday, a professional guide will take you on a walking tour of the old town. On Thursday, a trip to Athienou village gives participants the opportunity to see halloumi making and visit the Kallinikeio Museum and the Flour Mill, whilst there is a second guided tour in Larnaka city "Skala Area" on Friday, to see traditional crafts practised at the local workshops. Saturday is a packed excursion to the three picturesque villages of Lefkara, Kato Drys and Skarinou, which have retained their traditional character and pastimes. And after all the excitement of the week, enjoy a relaxing Sunday any way you like!
All the activities are free of charge upon presentation of a voucher issued by the hotels, and require no prior booking, with the exception of the two village excursions, which require one day’s notice.
The programme is available from hotels and here.
