Capture the Beauty of Larnaka’s Feathered Friends!
There is much excitement in Larnaka as high numbers of majestic flamingos return to the Salt Lakes and Voroklini Lake in flocks that have numbered tens of thousands, with locals and visitors also ‘flocking’ to capture this wondrous sight!
If you have visited our feathered friends this winter and have succeeded in photographing them well, then you could be in with a chance of winning the ‘Flamingos in Larnaka’ photographic competition, which the LTB launched this month.
Anyone, anywhere can enter their photograph, as long as the image is from this winter season (November 2015 – January 2016) and is original. All .jpg images sent in to: firstname.lastname@example.org by January, 31, 2016 will be uploaded to the Larnaka Tourism Facebook page for a public vote, with the images gaining the highest votes winning.
The three most-voted submissions will be awarded a first prize of €500; a second prize of €200, and a third prize of €100. There will also be three further entries given honourable mentions. The six winning images will be used by the LTB and the Cyprus Tourism Organisation (CTO) in the future, with the photographers fully credited.
There has never been a better time to catch the flamingos in Larnaka, which remain one of the most beautiful, beloved and defining elements of the region. For terms and conditions of the competition, and information on how to enter, click here.
