New Larnaka Thematic Cycle Routes

Few feelings can beat that of cycling in clean. fresh air; through challenging, varied and picturesque terrain, which is why the region of Larnaka is so popular with cyclists. And thanks to a range of thematic routes, a bike ride can also be combined with a piece of history or tradition.

Neolithic Route: Europe’s most ancient route for history lovers passes through the two Neolithic archaeological sites of Choirokoitia and Kalavasos.

Wine and Gastronomy Tour: Alongside various wineries, this tour of authentic Cyprus passes through the village of Lefkara, and culminates with the sampling of fresh Halloumi cheese.

Multi-religious Route: This city tour takes in the various places of worship for a variety of faiths, highlighting Larnaka’s religious tolerance and harmony.

Venetian Towers Route: A cycle route to the villages of Pyla and Xylophagou to see two of the region’s four well-preserved Venetian Watchtowers.

Venetian Towers Route B: A cycle route to the villages of Pervolia and Alaminos to see two of the region’s four well-preserved Venetian Watchtowers.

Flamingo Route: Covering the areas of the Salt Lake and Voroklini Lake, this route offers the opportunity to spot migrating and rare bird species, amongst other flora and fauna.

Bikes, Camels and Donkey:
A day of alternate travel that takes you from the saddle of a bike to the saddle of a camel or donkey!

Wheat Fields and Bread Making: Riding through golden wheat fields, the route takes you to Athienou village and its beautifully restored flourmill.
