Sand Sports for All in Larnaka
Aside from the sports you can enjoy in and on the water at Larnaka’s excellent beaches, the sand also provides a challenging base for beach activities such as tennis and volleyball.
The Larnaka Beach Tennis Club – led by President Marios Nicolaides – holds tournaments on the CTO beach in Pyla every Sunday throughout the summer, until the end of September. All players are welcome and the games begin at 10.30am and go on until early evening. A nominal fee of €5 per player is required with trophies awarded to the winners.
Aside from the regular tournaments held at Pyla, there will also be a tournament held on Sunday, July 21 on the Phinikoudes sands, which is free of charge and open to all amateurs and professionals alike. Beginning at 10am, the tournament will continue until the early evening and trophies will be awarded to the winners.
A permanent volleyball court and net have also been erected on the sands of the Phinikoudes promenade and are free for everyone to use. The beach court will also serve to host official tournaments.
