Watch the Stars Under the Stars!
This summer, film lovers will have the unique opportunity to enjoy cinema under the stars, thanks to the open-air film screenings of the Larnaka Famagusta Cinema Society.
The film society – which was set up as a non-profit organisation in 1979 – screens a variety of local and international films and documentaries all-year-round, and with the opportunity of the warmer evenings will screen its summer films in two stunning historical locations; the Medieval Fort and the garden of the Pierides Museum.
Organised with the support of the Larnaka Municipality and the Cultural Services Department of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the screenings consist of short Greek, English and French productions, all under 25 minutes in length, with English subtitles. All screenings start at 8.30pm and tickets are €5.
On July 19, a screening of 'Marley' - a documentary on the life, music, and legacy of Bob Marley – will be shown at the Medieval Fort, with other titles and dates announced on the Facebook page.
President of the Society, Michalis Kalopedis says of the summer screenings: “Our goal for this summer is to offer people a chance to discover various locations around Larnaka through these unique cinema experiences”.
