Larnaka Awards & Rewards

Whilst the successful implementation of our projects and the positive feedback we receive is reward enough, it is also nice to be formally recognised, and the LTB was delighted to win at the first 'Cyprus Tourism Awards' held in May.

The LTB won Bronze in the category ‘Initiatives to Extend the Tourist Season / Enrichment of the Tourist Product Offering' for a raft of initiatives, including the ‘Larnaka Free Winter Experiences’ programme, the aesthetic upgrading of the St. Lazarus area, the Beaches Greening and Upgrading programme and several other projects designed to make Larnaka region an attractive all-year-round destination.

During his acceptance speech the LTB Chairman of the Board, Mr Dinos Lefkaritis, said that it is encouraging to see the hard work of the LTB and its stakeholders recognised, and that efforts to enrich the region’s touristic offering will continue with even greater intensity.

There were several other Larnaka region awardees, including Golden Donkeys Farm in Skarinou, Lefkara Municipality, and Oliva Terra Organic Olive Farm – among other deserving winners.

Meanwhile, Larnaka is also proud to be the first region to receive certification under the ‘Taste Cyprus - Delightful Journeys’ quality label. A total of 16 establishments: nine taverns, three traditional shops, and four traditional retailers received the certification in May for their promotion of authentic local gastronomy. The pilot scheme is being implemented by the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism.

Congratulations to all the certificate awardees! Further information on the project and the Larnaka region participants can be found on the Facebook page.
