Getting Sporty this Summer
Summer in Larnaka wouldn’t be complete without some world-class, international sporting events so get ready for tennis, volleyball, kite surfing and handball competitions!
The ITF (International Tennis Federation) Juniors U18 Larnaca Cup 2019 tournament will take place on June 4-8 at the Larnaka Tennis Club courts. Local and international tennis players will compete in the official ITF cup, with spectators welcomed.
The beach volleyball games of the CEV Continental Cup will take place on June 8 – 9 at Foinikoudes sand court with spectators invited to watch the tournament. The Continental Cup has been a major breakthrough for the Olympic Games qualification system since its introduction in 2010.
The annual kitesurfing competition ‘Cyprus Kitesurfing Championships - King of Kite’ will take place on the coast of Softades-Kiti on July 13 - 14 and is organised by Kahuna Surfhouse. This year's celebrity judge is world champion kitesurfer Adeuri Corniel from the Dominican Republic.
Also taking place at Foinikoudes sand court on July 27 – 28 is the European Beach Handball Tournament 2019, which is part of the European Beach Tour calendar and supported by the European Handball Federation (EHF). Spectators are welcome to watch the games which include both Men’s and Women’s teams.
