IMPORTANT NOTE: The gallery will be closed to the public in preparation of the Biennale and will re-open for the event on October 11, 2023.
Housed in one of the old 1881 Colonial buildings on Europe Square (at the start of the Foinikoudes promenade), the Municipal Art Gallery regularly hosts thematic exhibitions featuring a wide range of artists from the island, as well as abroad.
Exhibitions are displayed across four interconnecting halls and often include sculptures and modern installations alongside paintings and mixed media artworks. The gallery's permanent collection of paintings consists of pieces by eminent Cypriot and other artists, representative of contemporary artistic talent on the island.
