Costas Argyrou Museum
Located in Mazotos Village, the Costas Argyrou Museum was newly renovated at the end of 2023 and displays the monumental work of local self-taught artist Costas Argyrou, who passed away in 2001 at the age of 84.
He discovered his talents in his fifties after being inspired by a visit to Larnaka’s Archaeological Museum, and then devoted the rest of his years to his passion. His pieces depict his rural surroundings and the religion, traditions and history of the island. The collection on display is comprised of paintings, sculptures, mosaics and woodcarvings - created with an eclectic use of materials.
The museum is also part of the Larnaka Virtual Museums platform and can be explored virtually with enriched content below or in full screen here.
