Athienou community is famous for many food products, which are all showcased at the annual festival where visitors will be able watch the preparation of, sample and buy, Athienou bread, Halloumi cheese, bulgar wheat soup, lokkoumi wedding sweets, nuts, homemade preserves, spoon sweets, nuts, eggs, pasta, alcoholic beverages and other local products. The programme will also include children's workshops and activities.

The festival takes place at the municipal park with free admission.

PROGRAMME

Throughout the day:

Exhibition, sale, and sampling of Athienou products; workshops on making bread, halloumi, trahanas, etc.

Healthy breakfast for children featuring Athienou products & nutritional advice.

Interactive and entertaining games.

Opening address and inauguration of the Festival by the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Christos Senekis.

Live broadcast with ZENITH FM.

Chef Doros Hadjipieris prepares recipes using local ingredients.

Music and children's activities.
