Golden Donkeys Farm in Skarinou village is holding a traditional Green Monday celebration.

Green Monday is a public holiday that marks the end of the carnival period and the start of lent. It is celebrated outdoors in the fields, parks and camp sites with a Lenton picnic with only fasting food eaten, including seafood that does not 'bleed', such as cuttlefish and octopus, and a special, traditional bread and 'halvas' semolina dessert. Locals enjoy playing games outdoors, such as tug-of-war and sack races, and it is also customary to fly kites.
