The tradition of Tsiknopempti is also known as 'Stinky Thursday' or 'Smoky Thursday' in English due to the smoke and aroma of grilled and charcoaled meat that fills the air on this day when it is customary to eat meat for the Carnival period and before Lent starts on Green Monday (March 03 this year).
