Final QUEST Meeting and Multiplier Event



As Cyprus partners for the QUEST project of the Erasmus+ programme of the EU, Larnaka Tourism Board (LTB) and University of Nicosia welcomed the project partners to Cyprus for the 6th Transnational Meeting and 3rd Multiplier Event on October 9 & 10, 2024 in lieu of the project’s completion in November 2024.
Day 1: October 9
As part of the final transnational meeting, the partners were toured around historic landmarks of Larnaka city in the morning and had onsite meetings at Phivos Stavrides Foundation – Larnaka Archives and Pierides Museum – Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation where they were introduced to the city's historical and cultural institutions and actions.
Back at the offices of LTB, the transnational meeting included a presentation by LTB on the internships held in Larnaka in April - July, along with the project’s key milestones; reflecting on the four main results and the blended mobility activities.
Day 2: October 10
A Multiplier Event (MeV) was held at University of Nicosia. Key speakers gave presentations, including Nicosia Mayor, Mr. Charalambos Prountzos, Senior Tourism Officer, Deputy Ministry of Tourism, Mr. Vakis Loizides, and General Secretary, Cyprus Hotels & Catering, Establishment Employees, Trade Union P.E.O, Mr. Neophytos Timinis. For the project itself, Mr. Antonio Barone, Director of the Phoenicians' Route - Cultural Route of the Council of Europe partner of the project gave an address, and Mrs. Ksenija Keča, QUEST Project Coordinator at Libertas University gave an overview of the project.
Engaging and insightful workshops followed; Mr. George Panayiotou, Employment Placement Coordinator of Hospitality and Tourism programs at the University of Nicosia, delved into ‘The Elements of Quality Internships’, while Mr. Constantinos Moniatis, Human Resources Manager, Four Seasons Hotel addressed the topic of ‘Bridging the Gap between Industry & Academia’. A final debate was moderated by Mrs. Yianna Orphanidou, Coordinator of the BBA Hospitality Program at the University of Nicosia with the event culminating with Ms. Jelena Stupalo, Director of the Solin Tourism Board and project partner presenting ‘Split Dalmatia County including Soli’.
The partners then visited mountainous Lefkara village to discover its history and world-famous lace and silver handicrafts. The transnational meeting then continued at the Lefkara Conference Centre before heading back to Larnaka, concluding a very successful two days and a positive end to the project.
