Spring Brings... Fresh Events!
A series of events are returning this spring following a break due to the pandemic, ensuring that the city and region are once again filled with activity, culture and creativity!
Easter Monday Festivities at the Villages – April 25
It is customary for Easter Monday to be spent with a traditional celebration that includes games and entertainment; something that is more prevalent in the rural villages. All are welcome at Vorokolini community’s event. Starting from 4pm (at the new Archangel Michael Church), there will be folkloric music and dance; courtyard games (tug-of-war, sack race, egg and spoon), and complimentary Zivania, wine, nuts, loukoumades (honey donuts) and flaounes (Easter cheese scone).
ITF S400 Cyprus Seniors Cup 2022 – May 2-7
Larnaca Tennis Club is hosting the ‘ITF S400 Cyprus Seniors Cup 2022’ for the first time at their new premises, following the ‘TEU16 Larnaca Tennis Tournament’ in March.
The tournament consists of Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles from 30 - 75 years of age.

Lefkara Vertical Challenge – May 14
The 2nd Lefkara Vertical Challenge is a marathon with a difference! Runners will test their endurance running uphill in mountainous Lefkara village and enjoy panoramic views along their climb. The 4km course includes 450m of positive altitude gain with the reward of picture-perfect views at the top of a hill.

Anthestiria (Flower Festival) - May 15
The annual flower festival celebrates spring and its glorious, natural beauty with a parade of floats decorated with fresh flowers that winds along the palm tree promenade. The name ‘Anthestiria’ is derived from the word ‘anthos’ (bloom / blossom / flower) and the tradition dates back to Ancient Greek times and the celebrations held in honour of Dionysus – Ancient Greek God of Wine, Agriculture and Theatre, as well as the rebirth of man and nature.
Heartland of Legends – Handicraft and Enogastronomy Workshops
The Deputy Ministry of Tourism is holding a rich programme of free workshops until the end of the year, with a variety of interesting and interactive sessions being held in Larnaka region villages. Typically held on Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends, workshop topics include lace embroidery, bee/honey-themed activities, herbs, jewelry, cheese and dessert making, and more. Prior booking is required and guided village tours also take place in participating locations.
