Spring Outing: Pretty Kato Drys Village



Set in a pretty hillside location, Kato Drys is one of Larnaka region’s most popular villages and perfect for a spring outing to discover its beautifully preserved traditional character.
The community is part of the Rural Larnaka Honey Villages, an Eden Village, an agrotourism destination, and also Larnaka Tourism Board’s latest member.
Even a simple stroll around Kato Drys’s distinctive narrow lanes is filled with interest, from the traditional stone buildings with colourful wooden doors, to monuments such as the stone fountains and Venetian bridge.
Places of interest
The Bee & Embroidery Museum: Housed in a 300-year old building and dedicated to olden-day village life and traditional industries and pastimes, including beekeeping and lace making.
Local Rural Museum Kato Drys: Traditional house with the furniture and equipment of olden-days, including tools that were used for occupational purposes and household chores.
Ktima Christoudia Winery: Located in the picturesque hillside the winery welcomes visitors with an informative tour around its premises and cellar, followed by wine tasting.
To Madratzi tis Giagias: Demonstrations and workshops for handmade, local products, such as almond sweet, terebinth berry pies, jams and more in the setting of an old stone-built house.
The historic Panagia Eleousa and Agios Charalambos churches.
Workshops and demonstrations for different arts and handicrafts at Ergastiri Zwgrafikis Kyriaki A.K and Sente Handicraft Shop.
Lefkara - Kato Drys nature trail: A 2.5km walk that initially starts as an uphill course in Lefkara village then takes a downhill course towards Kato Drys.
