Water & Waves: Making a Splash!
Larnaka region’s seawaters – along with the rest of the island – have once again ranked top in Europe for bathing water quality, and what better way to celebrate than to make a splash this summer and enjoy the huge variety of water activities on offer.
From above to below the waves... relaxing to challenging, there is an activity for everyone, but if you would rather watch, there are also several major tournaments taking place.
Diving: Larnaka is home to the world-renowned, top wreck dive site ‘Zenobia’ and other wrecks and reefs. Marine enrichment is ongoing and a new vessel 'Lambousa' will be sunk next to the Elpida and LEF1 wrecks by the end of the year.
Kitesurfing: Larnaka Kite Surfing Beach has some of the best conditions for the sport in the wider Mediterranean region. The King of Kite Cyprus Kite Surfing Championships take place in July.
SUP: Stand Up and Paddle is the ultimate for honing balance and coordination. Yoga on the board and sunrise SUP are also popular. The Oroklini SUP Games take place on June 30.
Discover many other activities such as wingfoil, windsurfing, water or jet skiing, parasailing, canoeing, kayaking, fun inflatables, boat rides, and more. Our Water Activities video will also inspire you to take the plunge!
