Following the many activities that took place under the umbrella of ‘Be Active Week’ in September, Larnaka region continues its sporting season with a varied calendar of local and international events throughout autumn.
Mediterranean Open Water Swimming Cup (COMEN) and Cyprus National Open Water Swimming Cup, Oct 2-3
This year’s swimming marathon will be upgraded to incorporate the Cyprus National Open Water Swimming Cup, with over 100 athletes from 10 countries braving the waters to follow a route from Larnaka Medieval Castle towards Larnaka International Airport and back.
AIDA Freedom Depth Games 2021, Oct 7-16
The annual freedive competition has been taking place since 2014 and is organised by the island’s freediving national record holder. Divers of all levels compete in the extreme sport whereby participants deep dive on one breath.
5th Aphrodite Mediterranean Cup, Oct 27 - 31
The brand new Pyla Archery Park welcomes archers from around the world for its first official tournament with Recurve and Compound competition categories for Men, Women, Junior and Cadet. The competition is organised by the Cyprus Archery Federation.
TEU12 Larnaca Tennis Club-Petrolina G2, Nov 1-7
The Larnaca Tennis Club’s new courts will host local and international tennis players for the Under 12s European tournament as part of the Tennis Europe match calendar (governed by the International Tennis Federation). It is the first time that Larnaka Tennis Club is hosting the tournament.
Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon, Nov 21
The annual marathon is expanding this year to merge with the OPAP Limassol Marathon under the umbrella of a new group that will combine the island’s two biggest running events. Thousands of runners from around the world will once again follow a coastal course from the Finikoudes (palm tree promenade).
