Aradippou

Aradippou Municipality is seamlessly integrated with Larnaka city and rich in cultural attractions and traditions.

Located on the outskirts of Larnaka, at its entry-point, its environs incorporate the protected Rizoelia National Forest Park; a green oasis of 97 hectares in the city that is included within the European Natura 2000 network and features hiking and cycling trails, a picnic area, café, playground and public conveniences.

The old neighbourhood streets form the historical district with the Museum of Christian Art – Christoforou Collection that exhibits 300+ religious artworks, including pieces by Rembrandt and Dali, and is available as a virtual tour as part of the Larnaka Virtual Museums series, and the Kostas Kaimaklis Museum that presents olden-day village life.

The significant Apostle Luke Church is listed on the on the UNESCO National Intangible Cultural Heritage List (Cyprus) and is celebrated with a large festival each year that is one of the largest on the island, in honour of the saint’s day in October. The church is in the centre of the village and surrounded by popular taverns with alfresco dining in the warm months.
