Larnaka Municipal Gallery - Christoforou Collection

The Larnaka Municipal Gallery – Christoforou Collection exhibits around 150 artworks by Greek painters and engravers of the 19th - 20th centuries; exhibited with the kind permission of retired Cypriot diplomat Charalambos Christoforou and his spouse Maria Christoforou.

The collection opened in July 2024 and is part of Larnaka Municipal Gallery but is housed separately as a permanent exhibition on the first floor of the Multipurpose Center for Creativity and Culture (Mattei House), whilst the original gallery - which is located in Europe Square - shows periodic exhibitions. A mini documentary about the historic building that was formerly the Larnaka Club and known locally as ‘Mattei House’ can be viewed here.

The Multipurpose Center for Creativity and Culture is a short walk from the original gallery on Europe Square and is located along Zenonos Kitieos Street, opposite the Pierides Museum – Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation and close to the Phivos Stavrides Foundation - Larnaka Archives, thus creating a cultural cluster in the heart of the city.
