Tangible Results for EU Programme Participation
Larnaka Tourism Board's continued participation in several Erasmus+ programme projects is key to enriching the local tourism industry.
The ‘Go for Vet in Erasmus+’ project of the Erasmus+ programme of the EU is nearing completion with the final online conference of experts, partners and stakeholders to be held on September 26, 2024.
The project is aimed at strengthening the potential of VET providers to implement vocational international traineeships – including for persons with a disability - in the fields of Hotels, Veterinary, Logistics and Photography & Multimedia.
A comprehensive guide of recommendations is ready and covers the different types of disability; openness and ways in which to communicate and work with persons with a disability, and what positions and roles are best suitable for each type of disability within the fields included in the project, with LTB responsible for the Hotel Technician role.

The QUEST Erasmus+ project is also completing this autumn, concluding with a partner meeting on the island on October 9, 10 and 11, 2024, hosted by the Cyprus partners LTB and Nicosia University.
Interns from the Spain and Croatia took part in one-month internships in Larnaka during April and June this year in line with the projects aims to increase the employability of higher education students in the tourism sector. The interns were engaged in various touristic actions and tasks, including assisting at cultural events, visiting hotels and heritage archiving, completing logbooks of their work experience.
LTB’s newest project participation is the MAAS Erasmus+ project, which is aimed at meeting the labour market needs of the tourism sector via the training of job brokers whilst emphasising support for Ukrainian refugee job seekers.
All the Master Classes of the Community of Practice project meetings so far have been added to a YouTube channel here and the eTracking Tool and Portfolio Builder are underway.
