Larnaka attractions have taken on a new dimension with the introduction of virtual and interactive ways to experience the region for the tech-savvy traveller!
Whether you are visiting the region in person or wanting to experience it from your home to learn more, you can take a virtual journey through the sights and history of Larnaka. The projects constitute ‘island-firsts’ with Larnaka leading the way in digital tourism innovation and were unveiled to local media and industry in October 2021 at the ‘Virtual Larnaka’ event.
Larnaka Virtual Museums: Take a virtual and enriched tour of six of the region’s interesting museums from your device at home, or whilst at the museums for a hybrid experience. The platform includes bonus material and information such as 3D renditions, audio and video content. Start your tour here.
Larnaka 360 Cultural Walk: You can explore Larnaka city and its environs virtually with this detailed platform that allows you to plan your self-guided walk and provides information on all the cultural, natural and archaeological attractions you will encounter on foot. Start your tour here.
Storytelling Statues: Our popular and innovative Storytelling Statues project was expanded in 2021 and now includes 15 statutes, busts and monuments that will regale you with their unique story ‘in person’ simply by scanning the QR code on the monument to receive a call-back on your mobile device. Ancient Kition Port Virtual Reconstruction Video: The award-winning, historically accurate virtual reconstruction of the port of Ancient Kition brings to life the phases of the port’s use across 2,500 years (during the Cypro-Archaic II & I Periods) and was executed in cooperation with the French Archaeological Mission of Kition

Larnaka Tourism Board has plans to further expand virtual projects, with the Larnaka Virtual Diving Routes currently underway and further museums being added to the Larnaka Virtual Museums platform in the future.
