LTB Wins Platinum & Gold at Cyprus Tourism Awards!

Larnaka Tourism Board is the proud recipient of five awards at the prestigious Cyprus Tourism Awards held on June 04, 2026, winning one Platinum and four Gold awards.
All five awards are for authentic, sustainable tourism experiences; something that the board always keeps at the heart of projects and upgrades, with the sweeping wins reaffirming this commitment.
The top distinction given - the Platinum Award - was presented for actions within the Rural Larnaka Honey Villages initiative.
The nine mountainous villages that make up this touristic cluster share a rich beekeeping and honey making history that has been unified under common branding. Their themed activities and sights can be experienced when visiting the individual villages, or as part of a self-guided route across the picturesque area - also available as a virtual tour that showcases the beautiful mountainous landscape.
Aside from the attractions this sustainable initiative offers visitors, it significantly supports the rural communities and helps them to preserve their cultural identity.
The four Gold awards were for the following initiatives:
'Accessible Tourism in Larnaka Region’
Awarded for the accessible tourism actions (sensory and mobility disabilities) being implemented across Larnaka region. Projects include a wheelchair friendly view bench at Kamares, Braille menus at four and five star hotels, museum exhibits adapted for auditory and visual disability, tours and workshops, and training given to tourism sector staff.
‘Larnaka 360° Cultural Walk’
The innovative, virtual cultural route connects the city’s most important landmarks through an interactive touring experience and audio-visual materials. The tour can be taken at home; on a connected device whilst physically touring the city centre, or by scanning the pink QR signs on the included attractions found along the way. Start your tour here!
‘Larnaka Region Experiential Booking Platform’
The digital platform for booking experiences and activities in real-time was launched last year and offers visitors a rich array of experiences to book all-year-round, whilst also supporting local businesses by giving them a platform to expand their services. Book your experience here!
‘Larnaka Digital Religious Experiences’
A series of digital experiences that showcase the region's ecclesiastical and religious heritage and culture.
