Autumn is packed with events that take advantage of the drop in temperature and fill the region with tradition, culture, arts and activity. Mark these major events in your diary!
Arts: Biennale – October 11 – November 24
Larnaka’s largest arts event - that takes place every two years - returns with an eclectic programme of different artistic and parallel events, including exhibitions at various galleries and museums; cultural events; cinema screenings; workshops; lectures; installations, and more. The theme for 2023 asks the question: ‘What is it that constitutes a home, beyond just bricks and mortar?’ Full programme here.

5th Pancyprian Festival of Athienou Products - October 15
Athienou Municipality's annual festival showcases its rich history of food production and local produce with an event that includes food preparation demonstrations with sampling; stalls of local products; children's activities and folkloric entertainment.
1st Renaissance Fair – October 21
Larnaka region’s first medieval fair will evoke the local fairs that took place during the reign of Katerina Cornaro, the last Queen of Cyprus (who reigned for 16 years until she was forced to abdicate in 1489). The event will feature costumed performers entertaining with period music, dances, games, storytelling and traditional poetry. There will also be an open-air market, and food and drink available.
Sport: Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon – November 19
The official marathon of Larnaka hosts thousands of runners from nearly 100 countries with races that follow a costal route starting from the main promenade (Foinikoudes) and passing through the city’s landmarks, including its famous salt lakes and ancient ruins. There are races suitable for all members of the family and all levels of runner, whilst supporters line the streets to cheer the runners on.
Seasonal: Lefkara Christmas Village – November 25, 2023 – January 14, 2024
Lefkara village will be one of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism’s official ‘Christmas Villages’ for the forthcoming seasonal period and will be transformed with an array of festive and traditional stalls, entertainment, food and drink, children’s activities and workshops, and lots more Christmas cheer - all set to a mountain backdrop.
