Honey Villages: 'Bee'autiful New Logo & Plants!

Nestled in Larnaka region’s Orini (mountainous) areas, the nine Larnaka Rural Honey Villages have strengthened their status as beekeeping and honey producers with two new actions this season.
New Logo
Since the cluster of villages were originally, collectively branded for their sweet tradition, their touristic identity has been growing stronger as new thematic attractions have been progressively added (virtual tour, beekeeping excursions, two nature trails, playgrounds, mosaic planters, craft workshops).
As such, a new Honey Network comprised of the area’s stakeholders was recently formed, and the cute, existing bee logo given a fresh new face (in English and Greek).
Bee-friendly Flora
Maintaining bee population numbers is vital for our planet, and one of the ways of ensuring that our little stripey friends thrive is to provide continual food sources.
Larnaka Tourism Board – with the support of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism – distributed over 1000 bee-friendly plants and trees at the end of November 2025, which will be planted across the nine villages.
The flora includes Callistemon, Terraria and almond trees, and aromatic plants such as lavender. They were selected for their appeal to bees and also because they bloom at different times of the year, providing a year-round source of food.
This action also helps to enrich the environment and to regenerate areas lost due to natural causes.
